Fine Texas Modernist Oil by Alice Pittman, exhibited in 1952 at the Texas Fine Arts Association. The somewhat tattered label is still attached to the back. The style of the piece is reminiscent of Everett Spruce's work. Perhaps this is a student. The size is 20 x 24 inches; it is in its original white enamelled wood frame. Oil on masonite. Signed in the lower right "A. Pittman." Name is also on the exhibition label. Titled "Erosion." Good strong coloring. Its condition overall is very good, but there are three spots near the middle where the paint is cracked and slightly lifted. No loss however. Wonderful feel. Buyer pays only actual shipping and a token $1 towards packaging materials. I will take it to whatever carrier you prefer: USPS, Fedex, or UPS. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. I'd be happy to answer. There is no reserve. |
