SPAMMING_ kind readers, there is a warren mackenzie bowl in the picture listing above
comparing and continuing the traditions of a couple of minnesota
potters. jay strommen and warrnen mackenzie.."when i look you in the eyes you will know that i know" something? nothing? jay strommen 2008pictured
here is a jay strommen bowl with a warren mackenzie bowl. notice the
minimal-simpleness of the warren bowl in contrast to the
rustic-simpleness of the strommen bowl, like warren, jay also believes
that affordable handmade bowls should be available for everyone in the
world. one of jay strommen first clay experiences at the age of 13 was
seeing mackenzie and others in minnesota where both potters are from at
st. cloud state university. strommen's mother was taking a pottery
class and brought her son along to see the raku and various minnesota
potters working in the stuido.. thanks for looking... this auction includes jay strommen's bowl only... jayzo MAKE A WISH NOWnice

japanese tea ceremony, they are also called chado, chawan, i use a clay
that i formulated while living in japan that is bizen style, some would
even say darker than shigaraki.. all of the the zen ceremonyz involve
zen and finally, i use a slip, or glaze on most my bowls that is shino
like, the shino style slip or glaze is named after a particular glaze
originated in japan, used all over the world now, but was by an old
family...IN the japanese tea ceremony-chado, the bowl, chawan is good with green
tea( matcha ), the samurai were very interested in the tea ceremony,,
this was a place of equality,,often times the tea room would have a
bonsai tree, fukien tea, chinese elm, or some sort of ikebana...
usually in front of a japanese scroll of calligraphy or landscape... my
bowls help complete this ceremony~ complete the minimalist, minimalism picture.....moon grin ~ ~ thanks all!keep
