Beautiful male horse statue! Solid brass, free-standing, made in the style of ancient Greek horse depictions. The entire body is covered in beautiful line-work; the horse's graceful curved neck and proud pose add to the striking charm of this piece. Perfect for the true equine lover, as it focuses on the spirit of the animal, not its usefulness to man! Our brass sculptures are imported from the island of Crete, Greece, made in in a small workshop run by a couple, husband and wife, long time friends of mine. They are individually hand-cast in molds made of sand; any roughness is smoothed away by hand-- they are not simply stamped out by machine like similar pieces. The metal is oxidized, resulting in a black-and-green or yellow coloration that will not rub off or chip away. The size of the horse is 6" high and 5 1/2" wide and weighs 12.7 oz.
