Place a bid
You are bidding on a nice vintage framed pastel picture, with the frame measuring 18 inches wide and 15 inches long, the picture measures 15 inches wide and 11 inches high, there is a signature lower left side Chandler, hard to see in photo 4, I don't know alot about art so I have relied mostly on research I could do on the internet, I believe this is a pastel painting 1900/1949 on paper not canvas. As you can see by the photos there are issues with both the old frame and the picture, first it looks like there are water spots in several areas of the painting, it also looks as if someone tried to clean it and has removed or chipped some of the paint in several small areas, the frame has carvings with vines & leaves, there are several areas where the carvings have chipped off,(see photo closeups) from the back the frame seems to be old pine board of course I am guessing this because it dozen't look like oak to me, there is a wood board on the back holding the painting in with a wire hanger that appears to be very old, this is a real pretty landscape of a creek with tress and a house in the far background, And displays very nicely even with the flaws I have mentioned, I have taken as many photos as I can to show the beauty and the flaws of this nice old picture and from what I have been able to learn this is a very nice peice to add to your collection. I will notify winning bidder of shipping cost at the end of the auction, I will wrap very carefully and charge only actual shipping, Don't miss this chance to add this nice piece to your collection. Thanks and Happy Bidding (ADDED !! 4/20 a fellow ebayer has suggested this is a print not a painting, however after checking the picture with a loop, I think that is paint! not ink, that has chipped off the upper right hand corner of the picture, (PHOTO 9) as she said a collector will know so I leave this to you, I do not wish to deceive anyone so I have changed my listing to include this information, Thanks |
