Stalin, Truman and Prime Minister Atlee of the UK met at Cecilienhof Castle in Potsdam, Germany on 2 August 1945 to sign the Potsdam agreement. Shortly afterward the Berlin-based photographer Ernst Trepte photographed the rooms where these events had taken place, and his studio issued this portfolio in 1946. Consisting of (10) mounted silver print photographs with the photographer’s blind stamp appearing on the reverse of each image, and with Trepte’s handwritten captions in German on the mount. Each image approx 18 x 24cm. All are laid together into a deluxe cloth-covered portfolio, with brief text sheet and image title listing in four languages, German, English, Russian and French. The portfolio itself is approx (37 x 27cm). Rare!
